SHARP DEMONSTRATES BREAKTHROUGHS IN PRO AV TECHNOLOGY AT INFOCOMM 2013
Untitled Document

MAHWAH, NJ, June 11, 201 – Leading the Pro AV industry with the largest professional grade displays and focusing on ultra-high definition resolution and energy efficient LED backlighting, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA), a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation, is bringing its portfolio of products to InfoComm 2013. Whether it's a larger-than-life 90-inch class monitor, an ultra high definition IGZO display, or a Sharp AQUOS BOARD™ Interactive Display System that can communicate wirelessly with iOS and Android tablets, Sharp offers revolutionary Professional Display products that can enhance every experience. Attendees will encounter these products and others, seamlessly integrated into various real-world scenarios, in booth #3301.

"Business customers today are looking for improved ways to display information and communicate more seamlessly. Whether they want to display images in real-life size for a retail setting, showcase graphics in high definition clarity for post-production editing, or ensure seamless meeting collaboration, Sharp's state-of-the-art professional-grade products can offer a variety of solutions," said Mike Marusic, Senior VP, Business Solutions Group. "Whatever a user's vision or need is for their business, the integration of our technology can help create endless possibilities for our customers."

Some of the key product families Sharp will be demonstrating in vertical markets include:

The Ultimate in Ultra HD
Sharp's PN-K321 LED 31.5-inch diagonal monitor utilizes the company's IGZO technology to provide extraordinary ultra-high definition and energy efficiency. By offering four-times the pixel resolution of conventional 1080P, it provides unprecedented picture clarity, making it ideal for tasks where detailed precision is mandatory. The world's thinnest ultra-high definition monitor in its class, it is just 35 mm at its thickest point, and is easy to connect.

Also on display will be the PN-K322B UHD 10 point-multi-touch IGZO model. This 32-inch class touch-screen version boasts the same resolution, LED backlighting and thin frame, but adds an integrated, highly accurate, 10-point multi-touch overlay. This makes it an ideal interactive product for galleries and museums, where visuals must be depicted with as much clarity as possible, while the touch capability allows visitors to interact with the content.

World's Largest Professional Display
Sharp continues to lead the large-size panel industry with its 90-inch class PN-R903 – the world's largest professional-grade LED Display. With its breathtaking size, the PN-R903 is favored for a variety of applications where bigger is better. Users often take advantage of its ability to display images in real-life size, particularly when mounted vertically – offering benefits to many retail environments.

Displayed for the first time at InfoComm 2013 will be the new 60-inch class and 70-inch (69.5" diagonal) class PN-R models. Like the 90-inch class, these displays boast high brightness, 700 candelas and LED backlighting. The 60-inch and 70-inch class have a slim, sleek design and are lightweight for fast and easy installation

Energy Efficiency and Slim Design
Sharp's upcoming PN-U display series will be unveiled for the first time at the show. This series stands out for its slim design, LED backlighting, and full complement of input choices, including an easy-to use DisplayPort connector for fast computer integration. The addition of LED backlighting, which replaces CCFL technology, makes this series significantly more energy efficient. Its light weight makes it easy to hang, but solid construction ensures that it shares the durability and reliability of existing Sharp products. The series, fully compatible with Sharp Digital Signage Software, features 55-inch class, 47-inch class and 42-inch class models, all of which will be available this fall.

Making Collaboration Seamless
Sharp's AQUOS BOARD™ Interactive Display System is ideal in office and education environments with its collaborative and open standards properties, including its ability to wirelessly collaborate with both iOS and Andriod tablets. The AQUOS BOARD will also be demonstrated highlighting real-world use in interactive signage applications.

All resellers, contractors, integrators and consultants attending InfoComm 2013 are encouraged to visit the booth to register for Sharp's Pro AV Certified Reseller Program. Program benefits include the freedom to purchase from any authorized Sharp Pro AV distributor, consolidated purchase recognition, lead generation program and dealer locator database. Visit the Certified Reseller Program website to learn more.

SHARP TO EXHIBIT FULL SUITE OF PROFESSIONAL DISPLAYS INCLUDING STUNNING ULTRA-LARGE LED DISPLAYS FOR THE LARGE-FORMAT DIGITAL SIGNAGE MARKET

Las Vegas, NV - February, 26, 2013 -- Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America, a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation, is exhibiting its full line of professional LED displays, now available in screen size classes up to 90" (90-1/16" diagonal) at the 2013 Digital Signage Expo. Visit the Sharp booth, #913, to see the new line of ultra-large format displays along with the world’s slimmest ultra-high definition (3,840 x 2,160 pixel resolution) 32" class displays, high-impact video walls, AQUOS BOARD interactive display systems, and 20" class multi-touch interactive displays for counter-top or kiosk applications.

The latest family of Sharp professional LED large-format displays, the PN-R series, is available in screen size classes of 90", 70", and 60", and features stunning clarity, outstanding energy efficiency and advanced connectivity. The most impressive of the new series, the PN- R903 LED display, features a high-impact 90" class screen, big enough to showcase life-size images. At 6' 8" tall, the new PN-R903 is the first professional LED display that can display people at real height in portrait view, making it an ideal fit for the fashion and retail industries. Large enough to seamlessly replace a 2x2 46" panel video wall, the PN-R903 offers easy set-up and installation, with much less wiring, computer support, and virtually no calibration requirements.

Another technological innovation being demonstrated at the show is Sharp’s 32" class professional LCD monitor series which features Sharp’s groundbreaking IGZO technology and touts 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution, commonly referred to as “4K2K”. Combining Sharp’s IGZO technology with a brilliant white, edge lit LED backlight system, these state-of-the-art monitors measure only 35 millimeters at their thickest point (less than 1.5 inches), making them the industry’s thinnest design in their class.1 The series consists of two models, one of which features 10-point multi-touch capability, designed for use with either fingers or the included stylus, only 2mm wide at its tip, for use where precision and accuracy are needed.

“Sharp has long been a leader in display technology, and our line of professional, large- format displays and ultra-high definition products continue to deliver ground-breaking innovation and functionality,” said Mike Marusic, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Solutions Group, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. “We’re excited to be working with several companies on innovative usage of our display technology in real world applications that will virtually revolutionize the digital signage space.”

At the show, Sharp will be demonstrating several unique retail applications at the “Sharp Boutique”. A virtual dressing room application being used by a well-known clothing boutique lets customers try on clothing, and while looking at what appears to be a large mirror, change the color of the apparel in real time. Another similar application lets customers try on clothing with a delayed view, helping to solve the problem of how the fit looks from a 360 degree perspective. Other applications include use of Sharp interactive displays as electronic concierges at a prominent worldwide hotel chain, in-store interactive countertop applications perfectly suited for the cosmetic and other retail industries, and video wall content designed for the 9/11 Museum as part of Sharp’s proud sponsorship of this important project. Many of these demonstrations are facilitated by the Sharp Technology Alliance Resource (STAR) Program that fosters collaboration between Sharp and other hardware and software vendors in the Digital Signage arena.

3D-Ready BrilliantColor™ Technology
Both the PG-LW and PG-LX models are 3D-Ready, incorporating DLP Link™ technology for use with compatible 3D content and active glasses. DLP Link enables seamless 3D data synchronization without requiring special data or position emitters, offering highly realistic and compelling 3D images without costly, time-consuming set-up.

Sharp Display Manager lets users control multiple projectors simultaneously from a remote location, generates periodic error diagnosis and reporting and notifies a remote computer of potential theft when projector cables are disconnected.

SHARP® GARNERS #1 SHARE IN LARGE SCREEN (60"+) CATEGORY IN 2012

Mahwah,NJ - January 28, 2013 – Sharp achieved the top U.S. market share in the 60"+ LED TV segment in 2012, according to The NPD Group's Retail Tracking Service. Fueled by an unmatched selection of large screen choices, picture quality performance and brand strength, Sharp more than doubled its market share between 2010 and 2012 (based on revenue share).

"The large screen market is a sweet spot right now for the TV industry," said Ben Arnold, Director of Industry Analysis at The NPD Group. "60"+ TV sales doubled in 2012 compared to 2011 and Sharp has top market share among U.S TV brands. This segment of the market is poised to grow even more in 2013."

Sharp offers the widest selection of 60" and larger LED TVs, including more than twenty 60" (diagonal) and above AQUOS LED televisions, including nine 60" class models, eight 70" class models, three 80" class models and the 90" class, the world’s largest commercially available LED TV. This extensive lineup is tailored to meet the needs of virtually any large screen TV buyer, best positioning Sharp to meet the increasing consumer appetite for larger screens. In fact, Sharp's 60" class 6-Series AQUOS model (LC-60LE640U) was the number one selling large screen LED TV in 2012 on a revenue basis.

"Sharp is creating and leading the market for 60" and above LED TVs, making us the fastest growing brand in the industry," said John Herrington, President, Sharp Electronics Marketing Company of America. "In 2013, we will continue this momentum with an all-smart, all-LED, large screen Sharp AQUOS lineup that features more models with Quattron™ technology and striking new slim designs."

At CES 2013, Sharp unveiled its 2013 AQUOS large screen LED TV lineup, which will start rolling out in February. The all-smart, all-LED Sharp AQUOS large screen lineup will include 21 models in the 60" class or larger, more than half featuring Sharp’s proprietary Quattron color technology.
